Door Supervision and ‘Up Skilling’ 2015 Up-dated Specification
Allied International Risk Door Supervision Course is aimed at individuals looking to work as a front-line door supervisor. This is a 4-day course with the following content. Successful candidates will be awarded the Edexcel Level 2 BTEC Award in Door Supervision, required for their SIA Licence as a Door Supervisor.
The course consists of four units:
Unit 1 – Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private security Industry
Unit 2 – Working within the Private Security Industry
Unit 3 – Physical intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry
Unit 4 – Conflict Management within the Private Security
Level 2 Award for Up Skilling Door Supervisors (QCF)
From February 2013 all door supervisors, that achieved their qualifications in Door Supervision prior to October 2010, are required to attend successfully complete the new 1 day top-up ‘Up-Skilling Door Supervisors’ award before they can renew their SIA licence.
The ‘Up Skilling’ award is an SIA approved course instructing delegates in non-harm escorting techniques used to manage difficult situations, in licensed premises, without causing injury to Door Supervisors or members of the general public.
The skills are designed to be ‘non pain compliant and not reliant on size, strength or gender. It is now mandatory for new Door Supervisors, and those with existing licenses as a condition of renewal.
The one-day course is delivered through two units:
• Unit 1 – Safety Awareness unit for Door Supervisors within the Private Security Industry
• Unit 2 – Physical Intervention Skills within the Private Security Industry
On successful completion of the course, delegates will be awarded:•NOCN Level 2 Award for Up Skilling a Door Supervisor Working in the Private Security Industry (QCF)
